Final 13

Here is a compilation of the last 13 photos on my camera roll for the month of August!

It has been a pretty crazy and exciting month for me as I have started my freshman year of college, so bear with me as I am making this lifestyle adjustment!

Rysa Ruth Seersucker Dress

I fall in love with just about anything seersucker, especially dresses, like can it get much more classic and southern? Unfortunately for every girl's bank account, seersucker often comes at a hefty price...like this beautiful Lauren James dress, but after scouring the internet I stumbled upon this gem. This stunning seersucker dress is made by Rysa Ruth. She has an Etsy shop through which she designs various seersucker dresses. While the dresses are literally flawless, one of the best parts about ordering through her is that the customer service is impeccable and the length of each dress is customized for your body.

Striped to Perfection

Every girl needs at least one nice and flattering dress in her closet, and this one is definitely mine! The various directions of the stripes creates a slimming effect at the waist, and the back is super young and chic yet still classy enough to be worn to more conservative events. Something I did not realize when ordering the dress but actually really love is that the light stripes aren't white; instead, they're like a cream-ish color so the dress can be worn year round!

Purple Pride

It's official! I'm a college student! I moved into my dorm room yesterday, and I could not be more excited about how it turned out and about what the future holds. And what better way to kick off my college years than with a cute K-State outfit?! I love how casual this outfit is, but takes on a super fun and feminine feel with the skirt.

Palm Princess

I think I may have found the most elegant way to pull of this summer's palm print trend. Not only are maxi dresses super comfy and easy to throw on, they are the perfect combination of effortless and elegant, and when you throw a trendy pattern all over it, how can a girl say no?? I also am in love with the little ruffle at the bottom, such a simple yet feminine touch to an otherwise simply cut dress.

Southern Grace Company Tee

Southern Grace Company t-shirt  (10% off with the code "AUTUMNM10") c/o // White chino shorts // White tennis shoes (less than $15!) // Similar gold monogram necklace // Pearl stud earrings // Aviator sunglasses

Just when you think you've discovered and fell in love with every southern t-shirt company there is, another one pops up, am I right?! Well I am so incredibly happy that I stumbled upon this one! While their selection is not huge like some better established companies, there is not one that I haven't fallen in love with! I especially love this one. Every design is so beautiful, like if I had one for every day of the week, you better believe I would wear one every single day they're that cute and comfy! (don't tell anyone, but I may have worn this one at various times 3 days in a row...whoops!) And want to know the best part?! You can get one for 10% off with the code "AutumnM10"

A Quick Getaway

My family typically takes pretty big summer vacations, but this past year we went New York for Thanksgiving and New Orleans for Mardi Gras and with me starting college this month we decided to keep our summer vacation a little more low-key. So my mom took us to Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri for a few days!

We ended up staying in this beautiful "room" at the resort; while it was merely a room on the inside the outside of it was gorgeous! It looked like this beautiful house and we had our own dock out back!

Pink Chevron Maxi Dress

Now that summer is coming to a close, people are squeezing in their last minute summer vacations, which is also a great opportunity to get some final uses out of your "summer clothes". This pink chevron maxi dress and turquoise beaded necklace are the perfect pair for a night out at the beach. It's super bright, cool, and summery, so basically perfect for any warm vacation spot.

Black + Coral

Every girl needs a LBD (little black dress) in her closet...if you don't own one already it's time to go get one right now. It is the most versatile and classic dress you will own, plus "everyone looks good in black".  Now I am in no way a black fanatic. To be honest, I only own five black clothing items: this dress, these heels, a skirt, norts, and leggings; I also try my hardest to completely ban black from my room decor. As crazy as it may seem, I just do not think the color black is my style.

Bright Boho

Orange peasant blouse (T.J. Maxx), similar here // Periwinkle shorts // Nude sandals (T.J. Maxx), similar here // Brown purse // Similar gold monogram necklace // Gold Wristology watch // Bracelets // Pearl stud earrings // Aviator sunglasses

One of the best feelings for any fashionista is when you get a new pair of shorts, only to find that they match a top you already have perfectly, and that's exactly what happened here. The embroidery on this top matched the shorts so flawlessly, I couldn't help but wear the outfit right away! While I would consider my style more polished and preppy, I'm never one to stray away from the boho trend, but with this combination I have been able to create an outfit that is the best of both worlds. The periwinkle shorts are a nice tailored and classic piece, while the bright orange peasant blouse makes the outfit a lot more trendy and relaxed which I love!

June Cleaver Inspired Look

Today I am sharing with y'all one of my favorite looks of all time. I have been loving the comfiness and effortlessness of button downs recently, but I wanted to style it in a more feminine way. So how could I go wrong with a bright pink skirt, right?! While this outfit is super girly and conservative (which I love!), I think tying the bottom of the skirt rather than just tucking it in adds a nice, trendy touch to the outfit and doesn't make it look too put together or stuffy. This is the perfect date night outfit, which is where I originally wore it or even for going out to lunch or shopping with friends/family. Also, this outfit sort of makes me feel like the stereotypical 1950s housewife, hence the title of this post!

Orange Cutout Tank

Orange cutout tank (T.J. Maxx), similar here // Blue printed shorts (T.J. Maxx), similar here // Brown Tommy Hilfiger sandals // Pearl stud earrings // Gold Wristology watch // Aviator sunglasses

Orange and blue are such a fun and colorful combination for the summertime! I am in love with the cutouts on the the neckline on this blouse. I also think the geometric patterned shorts are a nice touch to make this a more fun look. Also, I would highly recommend checking out your local T.J. Maxx in the next few weeks; they have had some amazing finds lately (perfect for back to school!)

Under the Palms

Palm print scarf (still available in some stores), similar here // White tank (Aerie), similar here // Skinny jeans (50% off!) // Nude heels // Brown purse // Gold earrings (Altar'd State), similar here // Gold Wristology watch // Aviator sunglasses

One day I stumbled into Forever 21, otherwise known as the most overwhelming store ever, and found this amazing, oversized palm print scarf for only $8! It is also super light weight so you can wear it during the summer, and the color also makes it a piece that is able to transition into the early fall. I decided to dress this outfit up a little bit, but you could easily swap out the jeans and heels for chino shorts and sandals for a comfy and casual look!
