Final 13

Now that another month has passed us by, I'm sharing with y'all another compilation of the last 13 photos on my camera roll!

Shabby Chic

TOP: Aerie (old, similar HERE) | BRALETTE: Aerie lace bralette | SKIRT: Francesca's (old, similar HERE and HERE) | SHOES: BP. 'Springs' wedge sandal | PURSE: Charming Charlie (available in stores, similar HERE and HERE) | HAT: similar HERE | EARRINGS: Kendra Scott 'Dee' earrings (Rocksbox) c/o | WATCH: Wristology 'Rachel' gold boyfriend watch | LIPS: Maybelline ColorSensational lipstick in 'Pink Me Up'

Outfits like this truly make me feel like I'm a Southern Belle stuck in the wrong state. I envy the women who have an excuse to wear big hats, and the elegant and feminine style that defines the South is right up my alley. And both this airy chiffon skirt and this summery floppy hat fit that perfectly.

Red, White & Stripes

TOP: Scoobie (available in stores or 913-461-4861, similar HERE and HERE) c/o | SHORTS: The Mint Julep Boutique scallop shorts | SHOES: Macy's (similar HERE) | EARRINGS: similar HERE | NECKLACE: similar HERE | WATCH: Wristology 'Rachel' gold boyfriend watch | RINGS: Kendra Scott 'Miles' midi rings | LIPS: L'Oreal Paris red lipstick

The 4th of July is right around the corner, and I'm so excited, even though I have no idea what I'm wearing yet...Although, Scoobie has some perfectly patriotic pieces, like this top, if you're still on the hunt for an outfit for the 4th like me! I'll try to share more of Scoobie's awesome 4th of July appropriate pieces on my Instagram later this week.

Olive in Summer

TOP: Express smocked off the shoulder top | JEANS: American Eagle (similar HERE) | SHOES: similar HERE | PURSE: ASOS (old, similar HERE) | EARRINGS: Altar'd State (similar HERE) | WATCH: Daniel Wellington 'Classic St. Mawes' watch | LIPS: Maybelline ColorSensational lipstick in 'Pink Me Up'

While I mainly gravitate towards brights in the summer, olive can be an elegant and understated color that works all year round. You will definitely get a bang for your buck with this OTS top that is less than $50, as you will be able to wear it through summer and into the fall.

Little White Dress

DRESS: Scoobie (available in stores or 913-461-4861, similar HERE) c/o | SHOES: BP. 'Springs' wedge sandal | PURSE: Lauren Ralph Lauren (similar HERE) | EARRINGS: similar HERE | WATCH: Wristology 'Rachel' gold boyfriend watch | RING: similar HERE

The only thing better than the classic little black dress is a summery little white dress! As a girl who wears black very rarely, I'd take a stunning white dress over a black one any day. I especially appreciate the simplicity and attention to detail in this white dress from Scoobie.

Turquoise + Pink

TOP: T.J. Maxx (similar HERE| SKIRT: Lulu*s (old, similar HERE) | SHOES: Jessica Simpson 'Calie' | PURSE: similar HERE | EARRINGS: Kendra Scott 'Dee' earrings (Rocksbox) | NECKLACE: Kendra Scott 'Layden' necklace (Rocksbox) | WATCH: Wristology 'Rachel' gold boyfriend watch | LIPS: Maybelline ColorSensational lipstick in 'Pink Me Up'

This look screams two things to me, bright and elegant. While it's always fun to play around with bold patterns, sometimes color blocked solids portray such beautiful simplicity, and the neutral accessories allow there to be no competition with the bright colors.

Where to Buy Dorm Decor

As soon as I graduated high school I was so excited to start decorating my future dorm room. I may have been a little too excited...good luck to whoever who has to deal with me decorating a house one day! But as a girl who has had the same bedroom decor since 7th grade, it was time for a change, and I seized the opportunity.

After scouring the internet and stores all summer long I found everything I wanted, and now I'm here to share with y'all some of the best places to find dorm decor along with some decor ideas! But first, here's some general tips!

1. Before you start shopping decide on a color palate and a basic idea of what you want so you don't buy more than you need. Also take into consideration how long you want the pieces to last you. I went with a navy, coral, white and gold color palate; I stayed neutral with the navy, white and gold that way if I got tired of the coral I could easily change up my color palate without having to start all over. This way the majority of my pieces will last me at least through college.

2. Don't forget about the discount stores. I know it can be easy to get caught up in the typical Bed, Bath & Beyond and Target, but also be sure to check out your local T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods.

3. Know when to DIY vs. when to buy. DIY is not always cheaper, but then again, sometimes it is! Price things out then decide from there. For example, I made my desk hutch and some wall decor for my room last year.

Best Places to Buy Dorm Decor

BEDDING

Dorms beds have a reputation for being uncomfortable, but it's not impossible to make them just as comfy as your one at home. Honestly, my bed in college was comfier than mine at home; I kind of miss it! All you need is a nice mattress topper and a fluffy duvet, and a few throw pillows and a blanket can do wonders with transforming your bed into a super cute oasis. I also think headboards can really make a difference; here's the DIY tutorial I used to make mine.

Comforters

If you're looking for a new comforter for college, this will probably be your biggest investment and will be the focal point of your room. This is the one I got last year (except mine was navy). Also, there's no reason to be scared of white bedding in college unless you're spill prone!

Throw Pillows

Throw pillows can take your bed from bland to Pinterest worthy in the blink of an eye. I love mixing patterns, colors and shapes with these. I have this one, and I absolutely love how soft and cozy it is!

Throw Blankets

I don't know about y'all, but I always cuddle with a throw blanket when I go to sleep. Although, they also look super cute folded at the end of the bed and really come in handy when you don't want to get under your covers or go to someone else's room. I have this one, and it is super soft and big.

WALL DECOR

Curtains and twinkle lights will instantly make your dorm room feel a million times cozier, and a full length mirror is essential if you want to get a glimpse of your outfit before you leave. Mine actually broke during the first two weeks of school, and I was too lazy to replace it so I struggled with standing on chairs to see my outfit in the vanity mirror which was not ideal! Also, different sized matted frames and DIY canvases are great for making beautiful gallery walls.

DESK

Finding pieces for my desk was probably one of my favorite parts of decorating. I absolutely LOVE this gold mirror and my bulldog tape dispenser! Also, spray paint can be your best friend if you find something you love just not in the right color; I spray painted this cake stand for my desk.

OTHER ROOM DECOR

I would also recommend getting a storage ottoman; it was great to have that extra seating and storage. An area rug can also make your room seem a lot more cozier!

Just Peachy

I may have just found my favorite top for this summer! Between the deep V, gorgeous color and extremely comfortable mixture of fabrics it is hard to not always gravitate towards this blouse. Not to mention, it's also from my favorite KC boutique: Scoobie.

4th of July Outfits

OUTFIT 1: white overalls | striped tee | blue crossbody | tennis shoes (less than $20!) | sunglasses
OUTFIT 4: red bikini top | denim shorts (LOVE and less than $15!) | sunglasses | straw tote | white hat | nude sandals

I know the 4th of July is still nearly two weeks out, but since my closet is mainly red, white and blue I just get so excited to put together outfits for the 4th! It's also one of my favorite holidays; who doesn't love a good excuse to be outside and relax all day with family as well as break out a super cute and patriotic outfit! Today I put together a variety of outfits that would be fitting for whatever festivities you partake in on the 4th. I also linked a ton of other patriotic pieces below.

P.S. don't forget to flaunt a bold red lipstick

Remember the days when I swore off wearing yellow all together? Those days are long gone, as yellow is becoming one of my favorite colors to wear this season, especially paired with different shades of blue. This pastel yellow dress is complimented perfectly by the bright turquoise accents, making it an exceptional spring and summer color combination.

White on white is the ultimate summer look. It simply cannot be done in any other season, so why not seize the opportunity now. There are few looks that scream classy and fabulous more that a simple and well done white one white look.

Gingham Peplum

TOP: Old Navy gingham peplum cami (less than $15!) | PANTS: Articles of Society 'Sarah' skinny jeans | SHOES: T.J. I don't think I've worn clothes from Old Navy since I was in elementary school, but lately they have had such cute and trendy clothes for unbeatable prices! I have especially been loving this light and breezy gingham camisole for hot summer days, and it's less than $15. Seriously, can it get better than that??

Embroidered Coral Sundress

DRESS: Scoobie (available in stores and 913-461-4861, similar HERE and HERE) | SHOES: Target (old, similar HERE) | PURSE: Francesca's (old, similar HERE| EARRINGS: Purple Peridot white beaded tassel earrings (less than $15!) | WATCH: Daniel Wellington 'Classic St. Mawes' leather strap watch | RINGS: Kendra Scott 'Miles' midi rings | LIPS: Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in 'Pink Me Up'

I have been crushing on this Free People dress for months now, but I found an even cuter dupe for it from Scoobie. It is less than half the price, and I am seriously ecstatic! The coral color of the dress is so vibrant, and the high neckline mixed with an open back makes for the perfect balance.

Confetti Crop Top

TOP: Scoobie (available in stores or 913-461-4861, similar HERE and HERE| SHORTS: Mint Julep Boutique scallop shorts | SHOES: Mossimo Supply Co. 'Layla' sneakers | PURSE: Michael Kors (old, similar HERE)  | EARRINGS: Purple Peridot white beaded tassel earrings | RINGS: Kendra Scott 'Miles' midi rings | LIPS: Maybelline ColorSensational lipstick in 'Pink Me Up'

Do it while you're young: see the world, fall in love, try new things and wear crop tops. Now I definitely don't wear crop tops on the reg, but there was something about this chambray, speckled and ruffled one that made me have to have it for the summer. The high waisted shorts also ensure you don't show too much tummy.

Off the Shoulder Tribal Romper

There's no denying that the off the shoulder neckline is the look of this summer, and this tribal print romper is the perfect OTS piece for the season. Unlike my typical bright outfits, this piece is more understated with the red, black and white color scheme; definitely a different look for me, but I'm loving it!

Fiesta Friday

DRESS: Scoobie (available in stores and (913)-461-4861, similar HERE) | SHOES: BP. This dress is super bright and a little crazy, but it makes for an awesome summer dress! When I first saw it, it reminded me of something that would be worn to a fiesta, probably due to the color blocked brights and pleated detailing all over. Regardless, this dress would be perfect for any summertime event!

Summer Sweater
