My favorite clothing pieces are those that I already know how I'm going to style the second I lay my eyes on them. When I saw this velvet shift dress on Scoobie's Instagram story a couple weeks ago I immediately imagined it paired with a denim jacket and black booties. Then the next day I headed over to the store to pick it up and bring this sassy fall outfit to life!
I love the mix of textures between the denim and velvet in this look. I feel like it gives off a semi-casual vibe while still being totally appropriate and fun for a weekend night out with friends. The deep V neckline, hoop earrings and vibrant pink lip also add hints of sass and vivaciousness that are unexpected in the season of chunky sweaters and scarves.
This dress also looks stunning as a semi-formal dress when I ditch the denim jacket and swap out the booties for burgundy heels. I know there's a lot of semi-formal events around this time of year, so if you're in the market I'd definitely recommend this trendy and affordable LBD. My sorority actually has our semi formal coming up next weekend, and with this dress' comfortability and movability (my dress has to agree with my dance moves haha!) it's definitely a contender for what I'll end up wearing!
In other news I'm pretty excited for tonight! My sorority is having everyone dress up in Halloween costumes for dinner, and I'll be breaking out my mom's old overalls for the THIRD time this week... I think I'm just slightly obsessed with them; plus they're super comfortable! Last weekend I wore them as a Full House/90s costume and then used them to dress up as a hillbilly too. I'll try to share the costume I come up with tonight on my Instagram story so maybe check over there later if you're interested!
Thank you Scoobie for sponsoring this post!
