Rose Sweater + Junior Year Goals Update

SWEATER: J.O.A. off the shoulder sweater | JEANS: American Eagle jeans | BOOTIES: Target (old, similar HERE) | EARRINGS: Francesca's (old, similar HERE) | LIPS: NYX butter lipstick in "Root Beer Float"

Hey y'all! I'm back! Sometimes we all need a break, and between a lot of traveling and the holidays I thought this past month was the perfect time to recoup and get re-inspired. While I have quite a few posts in the works from my recent trip to Charleston, I couldn't wait to share with y'all this off the shoulder sweater! It's so cozy and warm, which has been much needed during the freezing days we've had in Kansas lately, and the rose color is so pretty, maybe even appropriate if we have a cold Valentine's Day this year!

Off the shoulder pieces are my favorite to pair statement earrings with, and while I got the ones I'm wearing here last year, any neutral statement earrings would work with this sweater. THIS PAIR, THIS PAIR and THIS PAIR are a few of my favorites available at Francesca's right now that would look great paired with this sweater! At first I thought the off the shoulder neckline would leave me cold in the middle of winter, but honestly the cable knitting is so thick that it barely makes a difference!

I also wanted to give y'all a quick update on my junior year goals that I shared back in August. If I don't revisit them about halfway through the year I tend to forget about them (anyone else??), and then nothing ever gets accomplished. Today I'm wrapping up the first week of my spring semester, which I think is the perfect time for me to give a little update on how I've been doing on the five goals I set for myself this school year.

1. Wake up every morning to eat breakfast
This lasted no more than three days last semester, but this semester I have no option other than waking up before breakfast is even out. I have a super early class every single day, so I will be waking up bright and early at 6:30 a.m. and eating breakfast right before I head to class. While the early wake-up call was a huge adjustment this week, I'm actually feeling better than ever because of it!

2. Practice Patience
I'd say I've partially accomplished this one. I have definitely improved on practicing patience with myself, but when it comes to others I still have a lot to work on.

3. Say Yes to Adventure
This one has been a hard one for me. I just like living by a schedule OK?

4. Apply Myself in All My Classes
This more or less happened last semester. I had some classes I really despised, but this semester I'm so excited for every single one of them that applying myself should be no problem! I'm taking magazine writing, photography, data in journalism and aesthetics of apparel and textiles. It's so nice to finally be at the point where all of the classes I'm taking apply to my major and get me excited!

5. Grow in My Faith
Now this is the one I can truly say I've taken leaps and bounds in this school year so far! In January I went to Oklahoma City for the Stumo Conference where I was able to dive deep into my faith for five days with a bunch of my best friends. Since SMC I have found myself fired up about my faith daily and read this life changing book that I will be doing a book review on here in February!

As y'all can see, I didn't fully accomplish the majority of my goals last semester, but now that I've refreshed myself I'm ready to put these back in action this semester! Thanks for reading and happy FRIDAY!
