Fall Reading List

Contrary to popular belief, I'm passionate about a lot more than just clothes, and in the spirit of sharing more here on my blog, I thought I'd take a moment to talk about my greatest love: books. I've enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember, and the amount of books I can breeze through over the course of a season is a tad overwhelming. Over the summer I caught up on a bunch of older titles that I had my eye on for a while, but now I'm ready to share with y'all a few newer books I'm excited to dive into this fall!

The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton
I actually just finished reading this book, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this may be THE BEST memoir I've ever read. The story is about a man who spent 30 years on death row for a crime he didn't commit. It unveils his naivety toward the justice system in the South and details his incarcerated journey despite being innocent. There are few books I believe everyone should read, but this is one of them! It was truly eyeopening and really brought to light the power of hope.

Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks
When it comes to books, Nicholas Sparks' are my guilty pleasure. I think every girl can attest to wanting the love stories depicted in his novels at one point or another, and I was over the moon when I found out he is releasing a new one this month! The summary poses the question, "How long can a dream survive?" and you better believe that I'll be the first in line to find out!

A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult
To add to my excitement, another one of my favorite authors just released her latest book this week! I've always loved how Jodi Picoult ties complicated and controversial topics into her narratives, and this time appears to be no different as her characters tackle the issue of pregnant women's rights. I'm very anxious to see how she will open discussion regarding this subject!

The Reckoning by John Grisham
Alright, so I'm starting to think all my favorite authors got together and planned to release their books at the same time just to create the greatest fall ever! I love to read stories that are crime or court related, and I have a feeling John Grisham's upcoming novel about a Mississippi WWII veteran mysteriously shooting his pastor and friend will be a very interesting read this season.

Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
This book came out at the beginning of the year, but I've heard so many great things about it lately that I think it's time I give it a read! Everyone can use a little motivation to keep the non-stop hustle up, and apparently Rachel Hollis' honesty and humor does just that as it helps navigate the path of becoming the confident and joyful women we are all meant to be!

What books are y'all looking forward to reading this season? Or, better yet, what books have you read that you think are must-reads?? I'd love to know what else I should add to my list!
