The Perfect Dress for Fall + Winter

Dress: ASOS Corduroy shirt dress | Earrings: Kindred (similar here) | Shoes: Gap Factory Chelsea boots (currently 60% off) | Lips: Revlon Colorburst lip balm in "Sultry"

Hey y'all! Long time no talk! If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I was busy in Chicago this past week. I'll talk more about that in a second, but despite it being a beautiful city, the weather was nothing short of miserable. Then, right after I got back to Kansas it decided to suddenly turn into winter! The snow we got yesterday is so pretty, but if you don't already know, cold weather is not my thing! So, is it still fall? Is it officially winter here? I'm not sure! But what I do know is that this burgundy shirt dress is perfect for both seasons!

Corduroy is my favorite to wear once the weather cools down – it's extra thick and cozy. So, when I saw this corduroy shirt dress from ASOS, I immediately snatched it up! The rich burgundy color is beautiful for fall, and it can even be pulled off as a festive piece during the holiday season, too. To top off this outfit, I wore my tortoise hoop earrings and these brown booties. These booties are extremely comfortable – I could seriously wear them all day – and I got them for such a bargain. Right now, they're less than $25! They're definite staples, and I've been wearing them every chance I get. Honestly, I can't rave about them enough!

Now back to my trip to Chicago. At the beginning of this semester, one of my past professors offered me the opportunity to design the program for the Journalism Education Association's Chicago convention. Then, once the program was done, I was given the choice to join him and few other K-State students to help out at the convention. I immediately said yes, and it ended up being such a great time! It was inspiring to see so many high school students fired up about journalism, and seeing nearly 6,400 people carrying around the program I made was pretty awesome, too! During my last night in Chicago, I also got to eat deep dish pizza for the first time, so you could say I was one happy girl!
