My College Tips + Experience

My 2019 Mantra

Hey y'all! I can't believe this is my first time on here for 2019! I just started my last semester at K-State on Tuesday, and gosh, is it surreal to think about graduating in May! This year, in lieu of creating a list of goals and New Year's resolutions, I decided to choose a phrase to live by. This has definitely been a trend in the blogging sphere, but honestly, I'm all about it. I originally got the idea of navigating away from a list of resolutions from one of my favorite bloggers Brighton Keller, and I think it's a great way to look at life more holistically!

Tips + Takeaways From My Summer Internship

Hey y'all! This summer I had the amazing opportunity to intern at a digital marketing agency in Kansas City. As a print journalism major, it wasn't necessarily what I always envisioned myself doing, but let me just say, it was such a valuable and eyeopening experience that I'm now so thankful I jumped at the chance at. I know a lot of you are probably at the point where you're either searching for a summer internship or, if you're like me, hunting for big-girl job, so I thought now would be the perfect time to share a few of the biggest things I took away from the experience and some tips that could be helpful for those of you taking this step soon!

High School Stranger to College Best Friend

College is a time of new beginnings and fresh starts, but that doesn't necessarily mean with new people. Today I wanted to change pace a little bit and share with y'all one of the most important and influential people in my life, Nicole. We went to high school together for four years, but it took moving to Manhattan for us to really get to know each other and become friends.

4 Reasons to Stay in on a Friday Night

On weekends in college there's always something to do, whether that means going to a party, spending a night out with friends or exploring the town, but to be honest, some of my favorite Friday nights have been spent laying around the house with absolutely nothing to do. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does I always find myself feeling extremely content, relaxed and telling myself that I need to stay in more often! Today I'm sharing with y'all the four reasons why I enjoy staying in on Friday nights and why it's sometimes much needed!

5 Fall Essentials in College

During the first two months on campus I rarely, if ever, wear anything other than a t-shirt and Nike shorts to class because honestly, I'd sweat to death in anything else. Although, once the cooler weather starts to kick in, I tend to have a little more variety in what I wear. Don't get me wrong, leggings and a sweatshirt are an easy go-to, but I've noticed five other staples in my closet that I gravitate towards when I want to look a little more put together but still comfy in fall!

Junior Year Goals

Today is the first day of my junior year of college, and let's just say I'm having a really hard time coming to terms with that. The idea of being halfway done with college is simply mind boggling, and even scarier is the reality that I'm only two years away from being done with school forever and starting a career. High school feels like both just yesterday and a hundred years ago, but what's even crazier than the proximity of those memories is how drastically different I feel between those four years.

What to Wear for Gameday with Fortuity

Football season is FINALLY here! While I may not be the biggest sports fan ever, I do love the excuse to dress up and the game day experience as a whole, so needless to say, I'm super pumped for the first K-State home game tomorrow!

What to Wear: Sorority Recruitment

Sorority recruitment can be one of the most stressful yet rewarding week of a girl's life, so planning  outfits ahead of time is an absolute must! To lend a helping hand, I'm sharing with y'all what I wore and other ideas. Now every school's recruitment process is different, but here are some general guidelines you may want to consider.

Where to Buy Dorm Decor

As soon as I graduated high school I was so excited to start decorating my future dorm room. I may have been a little too excited...good luck to whoever who has to deal with me decorating a house one day! But as a girl who has had the same bedroom decor since 7th grade, it was time for a change, and I seized the opportunity.

15 Things I Learned My Freshman Year of College

Your freshman year of college is such a crazy experience that many people go through before becoming a full fledged adult. I just finished my first year of college at K-State, and while you're obviously at college to get an education, there is so much more to the experience!

The Most Detailed College Packing List Ever

Hey y'all, today I'm sharing my packing list for college! This fall I'm going to be starting college, and let me tell you, I may be having too much fun with dorm shopping... Anyways! My roommate and I decided that we wanted a navy and coral color scheme, and I decided to throw in a lot of white and gold accents.

Now before you read through this, remember that this is just what I have decided I will need/want next year, so be sure if you too are packing for college to customize to your own needs. Also, I have linked nearly everything to exactly what I got and/or what I use!
